When it comes to choosing your dog’s food there is an overwhelming differing of thoughts and opinions on what’s “right” – raw vs kibble vs wet vs dehydrated vs…
We would never recommend one type of diet, or one brand of food over another, and would always recommend that you be guided first by your vet and then by a little research but the one thing we absolutely promote is feeding your dog the most appropriate diet for their age, their health and their lifestyle.
At Citidogs, we have the opportunity to notice the effects that diet can have on behaviour, if a dog’s tum is unsettled, or they are “overfuelled” for example, this can lead to grumpiness or overstimulation!
Something we have observed is that often people mistakenly feed their “working breed” pet dog, who will never spend a day out in real breed employment, a working dog food. For your average pet this will be too calorie and protein dense!
Alongside your vet, another excellent resource for guidance is the following website:
We are always very happy to discuss any queries or concerns you may have, and the team will always happily share what they themselves feed their own dogs, should you want to know!
**And while treats and snacks are a topic for another day, we will take every opportunity to warn of the danger of Rawhide! Not only is it full of the nastiest chemicals, it also presents a huge choking hazard!**
