We are privileged to be a part of the beginning of your puppy’s story…

It is of the most importance that not only is your puppy kept safe and secure at Citidogs, but also that they feel safe and secure too!

Our trained and experienced staff are on hand to help each dog build confidence around other dogs and with meeting new people. The environment itself allows stimulation of their senses, new smells in their snouts, sounds to pique curiosity, sensations on their paws. And these experiences can also help your dog develop their resilience – their ability to cope in new or challenging situations.

Under the shelter and shade that the Woodland canopy provides, your puppy will have the soil beneath to get their noses snuffling away, soft tug toys to engage in polite play with the other pups and some carefully matched adult dogs, tunnels and low height play equipment to explore over and under and around and through.

We also can’t emphasise enough the importance of quality rest time to support your puppy with their physical and mental development and long term wellbeing.

This of course goes for all dogs, but our youngest ones need a little more help with this and so we ensure that their day will be a considered balance of play time and individual crate rests.

We find that dogs quickly learn our routines, especially those leading up to rest and lunch times and most will run eagerly up to the cabins. While ideally we aim for our puppies to enjoy their crate time naps, we understand that not all will, at least not to begin with and especially if we are the first experience they’ve had of one and so our staff are their to help them settle inside for eating lunch, and if they are too animated to snooze afterwards they can have a cosy bed and a cuddle on the floor.

As we don’t want our dogs running around on full tummies, after eating they rest for an hour. It’s sensible on creche days that they have an early breakfast at home to keep them going until 11am, and then when staying for a full day an afternoon portion of food or snack for 3pm is a perfect way to fill the hunger gap until home time.

We ask that all food is brought in pre-portioned, ready to eat in plastic boxes with your dog’s full name on. Please don’t bring in any glass or ceramic type tubs. We are happy to feed your dog whatever your chosen food type/brand.

If you have any questions regarding the myriad of dog food options available though, we are here to offer advice or point to resources to help guide you.

We don’t offer training at Citidogs, but will use praise and enthusiasm to reward good learning of the basics such as toileting outside, coming when called and a sit, just for some examples.
